Come and enjoy the world of Haruki Murakami and Illustrators!

We are happy to inform you that our current project exhibition: Haruki Murakami and Illustrators -- Maki Sasaki, Ayumi Ohashi, Makoto Wada, and Mizumaru Anzai— is welcoming a number of guests every day. If you are a fan of Murakami novels or art of illustrations in general, you really should not miss this great chance!

Haruki Murakami is one of contemporary Japan's best-known authors. In addition to novels, he has penned essays and picture books in collaboration with such illustrators as Maki Sasaki, Ayumi Ohashi, Makoto Wada, and Mizumaru Anzai. Featuring 178 pieces from these collaborations, this is the world's FIRST exhibition ever to focus on the harmonious relationship achieved between Murakami's prose and the accompanying illustrations.

Other intriguing aspects of this exhibition are that:

-Audience can view all three ORIGINAL cover illustrations which Maki Sasaki created for Murakami's early trilogy, Hear the Wind Sing (1973), Pinball, 1973 (1980), and A Wild Sheep Chase(1982), which is a VERY rare opportunity.

-“Hot pancakes doused with Coca-Cola”, the favourite of “Rat” appearing in Hear the Wind Sing, is now in the menu of the museum café. A golden opportunity for fans to experience a part of the Haruki Murakami world!
