Message from Chihiro Art Museum

Dear Friends,

It has been nearly a month since the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake. We would like to thank all of you for sending us your concerns and warm messages from overseas.  There was no damage to the collections and the facilities of the Chihiro Art Museums (Tokyo & Azumino).  However, our hearts ache so much to think of the misery still ongoing in the area damaged by the massive earthquake and tsunami.  We would like to express our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the people in the northeast of Japan.
Other than collecting donation from our museums’ visitors (to be sent to the victims through the Japanese Red Cross Society), the Chihiro Art Museums plan to hold some charity events as well as to donate picture books to the children who were forced to evacuate and now live in shelters.
Although difficult days are still ahead, the afflicted people are on the road to recovery.  Dear Friends, let us together hope our continual encouragement and spirit of support will help them —especially the children— to get back their smile as soon as possible.
